I can not access www.mywifiext.net : How to fix ?
You can encounter an error message or be unable to access to www.mywifiext.net site when you attempts to enter the website http://www.mywifiext.net/ in order to set up your wireless extender. Since http://www.mywifiext.net/ is not a regular internet website, this may happen. It is a local web page which used to open a NETGEAR wireless range extender’s settings (genie or Smart Wizard). To access this website, your device must either be physically linked via Ethernet or wirelessly linked to your NETGEAR range extender.
If your computer/laptop is not connected to the
Internet, you might face one of the following error messages on the screen:
- Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. “Page cannot be shown” or “You are not connected to a network.”
- Google Chrome. “Unable
to connect to the Internet. Google Chrome can’t display the webpage
because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet.”
- Firefox. “Server not found.
Firefox can’t find the server at www.mywifiext.net.”
- Safari. “Can’t find server.”
Troubleshoot issues accessing to www.mywifiext.net
site:
- You will need to bring your wifi range extender
into the same room as your main wireless router. Once setup process is
complete and you have a working network connection to the wireless router,
you can place the extender to its intended position.
- You have to assure that the NETGEAR wireless range
extender is plugged into an electrical power source. Notice that the power
LED lights.
- unplug both corners of the Ethernet cable that is
linking your wifi extender to your device and plug it in again, If your NETGEAR wireless range extender has a PC to Extender LED and it is not lit.
- open a your web browser, enter the extender’s
default IP address: 192.168.1.250 in the address
bar.
- In case you still cannot access your extender, reset
your web browser and try again.
- To ensure that the problem is not browser related,
you can proceed with a different web browser
- Attach your computer or laptop to the extender
via Ethernet cable.
- Assign your computer a static IP address. Use the
IP address 192.168.1.249 and the subnet
mask 255.255.255.0.
